PFA CERTIFIED

Our PFA Certified Instructors have been trained in all aspects of pole fitness and have had to pass multiple assessments as well as a written exam to ensure they make safety their number one priority. They have learned to teach proper technique which will enable their students to minimize the risk of injury while progressing more rapidly. We offer three levels of certification that build on each other so all Certified Instructors must begin with Level 1.

Level 1 Instructors have been fully trained to lead safe, fun and effective beginner classes. The Level 1 training includes anatomy, fitness and strength training for pole, pole physics, how to teach beginner pole movement (including floorwork, pole basics, spins, climbs and holds), basic spotting, choreography creation, counting music, classroom safety and considerations and more.

Level 2 Certification builds on Level 1 concepts and trains instructors to lead intermediate pole classes. These instructors have worked on teaching more advanced movement including inversions.  Level 2 instructors have developed a greater understanding of anatomy, they have learned to use physics to make difficult moves easier, they have gained proficiency with spotting more advanced moves and they have worked on creating basic combinations. Instructors at this level will also be able to recognize which moves should be taught first based on progression recommendations.

Level 3 Certification builds on the Level 1 and 2 concepts and trains instructors to lead fun, safe and effective advanced pole classes.  Level 3 instructors are able to train students in more advanced movement and they have a deeper understanding how to move students through a series of moves, mounts and dismounts.  They have also gained more proficiency in working with and creating more complex combinations.

PFA APPROVED

Not only are these instructors certified, but they have taken additional steps to meet the PFA stamp of approval!

Most pole certifying organizations stop with the certification. We understand that this is risky as it is possible for a person to obtain a pole certification, do nothing with it for 10 years, then begin teaching after forgetting everything they learned during the certification.

When a person receives their certification, and typically for the year following the certification, the material is fresh in the instructors' mind and body and they are able to lead safe, fun and effective classes. If they are teaching consistently, the material will continue to stay fresh in their minds and bodies.

Our Approved Instructors take it to the next level to ensure they are taking their role as an instructor seriously. This helps keep YOU safe and helps you progress as easily as possible. In addition to passing the pole instructor certification requirements, our Approved Instructors are required to:

  • Submit verified teaching hours and/or continuing education credits each year to demonstrate their commitment to keeping their skills and knowledge current,
  • Hold a current CPR/AED Certification
  • Agree to abide by the PFA Oath, and
  • Maintain membership in the PFA which gives them access to Instructor Tools and Materials as well as current, updated instructor information.
